Financial Director

A leading artisan bakery brand is seeking a seasoned Financial Director to steer the company through an exciting phase of growth. With a heritage of crafting high-quality baked goods, the company is positioned for expansion and requires financial expertise to navigate this dynamic period successfully.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring robust financial governance across the company's operations. Your responsibilities will include managing consolidated accounting, driving commercial strategy and profitability analysis, and leading financial forecasting and reporting. Additionally, you will play a key role in the strategic planning for the company's 3-5 year roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly accounting operations, ensuring compliance with tax requirements and optimizing R&D claim processes.
  • Manage the financial performance of the company's trading entities, maintaining a keen focus on driving growth and profitability.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure payroll is executed efficiently and assess the balance of resources.
  • Engage in strategic planning for market expansion, working closely with heads of new markets, commercial directors, and the CEO.
  • Implement financial best practices, with a particular emphasis on cost of goods sold (COGS) and fulfillment to enhance net margin.
  • Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the company's growth trajectory.
  • Establish and improve financial systems and controls to support both current activities and future expansion.

Requirements:

  • ACCA/ACA qualification with at least 10 years of finance experience.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and complex financial operations.
  • Familiarity with M&A processes and a strong grasp of systems and software integration.
  • Experience in preparing monthly accounts and participating in board meetings.
  • Adept at working in a high-velocity environment with an entrepreneurial mindset.
